This past Saturday, April 25th, Jan and I took a day trip to Amsterdam with some friends of Jan from the Czech Republic. Amsterdam is a city that is full of opposites and juxtapositions.
On one street you'll see buildings of amazing architecture and stunning beauty, and on the next you'll see a run down hovel. You'll walk buy a Gucci, Prada, or Donna Karen shop, where you'll have extremely wealthy people stepping over the beggars in front. I guess this is the same in virtually every major metropolis the world over. I just seemed to notice it more here.
